About the Opportunity
Due to an internal transfer we have a great opportunity to for someone to further their career as a Picking Leading Hand.
The Picking Leading Hand is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor with the management and implementation of the picking strategies.
Assisting with the harvest of 10 hectares of Glasshouse grown crops, the core responsibilities for this role includes:
- Ensuring picking tasks are completed within target times by undertaking picking when required
- Organising the setup and start-up of all picking including trolleys, equipment and all resources required
- Managing extra labour requirements when picking poor quality fruit and/or any other additional production tasks
- Liaising with the Production Supervisor to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are available to meet the weekly picking tasks
- Following the picking weekly/daily schedule and complete all tasks required
- Undertaking picking and deleafing tasks to ensure target times are achieved
- Operating trolley transporters when required
- Managing training schedule of all new picking recruits
