We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grower to join our Blueberry department. With over 18 hectares in Blueberries, this is not your ordinary growing environment, we utilise highly specialised growing techniques to propagate and grow our blueberries, and the people that undertake these tasks are integral to its success.

The Blueberry Grower is responsible for the development, management and implementation of the growing strategies in order to achieve budgeted production levels. This includes the care and cultivation of crops and ensuring team members complete the crop care and picking tasks to achieve the relevant KPIs and quality requirements for the specific crop. 

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in the development of the crop memo strategies
• Manage the implementation of the crop memo and adjust as required to meet targets
• Create and manage the daily work order
• Evaluate crop registration
• Develop and manage the routine maintenance schedule
• Manage fertiliser correctly
• Trouble shoot growing software and maintenance issues
• Participate in the on call roster
• Accountable for responding to all emergencies
• Manage alarm set points
• Check picking forecast and plan picking accordingly
• Liaise with Head Grower regarding crop care requirements for the following week
• Preparing and finalising required reports for Head Grower

The successful candidate will have:

• Growing experience, does not have to be Blueberry specific
• Climate Software Experience
• Intermediate Computer Skills
• Sound Math Skills
• Strong safety awareness
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to follow procedure & instructions
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team 
• Leadership skills and people management experience
