About the role:
Reporting directly to the Grower, the Growing General Hand is responsible for assisting the Growing team to complete manual tasks associated with the life cycle of our Tomato and Cucumber crops and perform a variety of required checks on plant, irrigation and equipment daily.
Primary responsibilities for this role will include:
- Ensure completion of daily, weekly and monthly duties such as drain checks, EC and pH checks, and growing medium uniformity.
- Enter and review data
- Responsible for goods consumption recording and reporting
- Conduct routine basic maintenance and basic repairs on all equipment such as calibrating and replacing EC and pH probes and cleaning equipment filters
- Moving and mixing of fertiliser in line with procedure
- Participate in spraying schedule
The successful candidate will possess:
- Safety awareness
- Sound judgement
- The ability to follow instruction
- A strong Attention to detail
- Intermediate computer skills (desirable)
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
Previous experience in Horticulture or Agriculture is desirable but not essential as successful applicants will be provided with training to understand the quality and performance standards required.
